GC MS MARINE FUELS CONTAMINATION TESTING UNIT

Sustainability and environmental compliance have been recognized as key areas of concern in International Shipping. Marine Fuels are of major significance as they define the vessel carbon footprint and in cases of unintended use of contaminated/adulterated fuel, can  release hazardous compounds to the environment. Serious vessel Main Engine damage may also result.

The use of the advanced analytical methods of GC/MS in the testing of Marine Fuels is the only available tool to early alert for the presence of rogue compounds in Marine Fuels.

NAIAS LABS completed and brought to operation the upgraded, new GC/MS Marine Fuels Testing Unit for the molecular detection of potential Marine (Bunker) Fuel adulteration.

NAIAS protocols are also compliant with the anticipated new ISO 8217 Marine Fuels Specifications Standard.
